Delivering comprehensive services for people living with HIV/AIDS and substance abuse

Counseling

Counseling includes:

  • Consultations with social workers on a "peer to peer" level

  • Consultations with psychologists

  • Consultations with doctors /  specialists of infectious diseases

  • Consultations with doctors/lung specialists

  • Consultations with doctors / gynecologists

 

Rehabilitation Center

We help people addicted to drug and alcohol to rediscover the meaning of life and learn to live without drugs - to fully learn, work and raise families. At the heart of the rehabilitation program is a deep, complex, spiritual, psychotherapeutic assistance for people who are dependent on substances. The guiding principle of the center is to help people make a reassessment of  their values ​​and priorities, in order to appear natural and have a conscious desire for radical change and return to society - a wholesome human being.

Informational Sessions

Informational sessions are available for clients about the various aspects of HIV and AIDS.  Informational sessions are also available for family members to educate them on how their loved ones can live with HIV. Finally, informational sessions are available for pregnant women living with HIV or women who have children living with it.

 

Community Center

 

The Community Center for People Living with HIV provides the following comprehensive services to clients and their immediate circles:

  • counseling by social workers on HIV / AIDS;

  • consultation on adherence to ART therapy;

  • psychological counseling;

  • conducting information sessions with self-help groups for people living with HIV;

  • consultation on pregnant women living with HIV;

  • non-medical home-based care for people living with HIV who are in poor physical condition. 

 

The aim of the project is to help 500 people living with HIV in the city of Dobropole and the outlying areas of the Donetsk region.

Prison Project

Care and support for HIV-positive inmates in prisons: 

  • Self-help groups / group psychotherapy

  • Information sessions

  • Informational sessions for prison staff 

  • Consultation with the doctor/specialist in infectious diseases

  • Consultation with social workers /  peer-to-peer"

  • Cultural events

  • Provision of hygiene kits

  • Provision of drugs and medical supplies

  • Provision of food packages

Goal areas: Before and after test counseling,  HIV testing of 1100 convicts at the Semidovskaya correctional colony (SIC) number 82.
